About Me

I love cycling to the beach & go for walks with Irene.
Waiting for the day when we both retire & spend time together doing the things that we both enjoy most.

"You'll see that simplifying is not necessarily about getting rid of everything we've worked so hard for. It's about making wise choices among the things we now have to choose from. It's about recognizing that trying to have it all has gotten in the way of enjoying the things that truly do add to our happiness and well-being. So it's about deciding what's important to us, and gracefully letting go of the things that are'nt."

Chicken Pie Day!

Categories: 2006 | April 29th, 2006 | by shiokman | no comments

Well, Monday being Labour Day & a public holiday here, but not in Perth……….
so sorry Grace; Irene & I had that very rare burst of energy to do some baking today!
Guess what we baked today? :???:

OK…that was a bad joke!

Anyway, we decided to try out two different types of pastry for our chicken pie.

This one is a Flaky Pie Crust

& the other one below is a Tart Pastry, like those type for fruit pies & pineapple tarts.

The difference between these two is actually just less butter & the egg yolks which are added when making the Tart Pastry. For myself, I prefer the Flaky Pie Crust but Irene likes the Tart Pastry better.

Since we ended up making too many pies & did'nt know how to get rid of the extras, who else but to dump them to?.....ALBERT....hahahaha! ....& all this while he thought that we made them specially for him......HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Hey Mich, when you come back in June, I'll bake some for you if you like.

As I mentioned earlier, this monday is a holiday so we might just try out Gracie's Kueh Bingka recipe & see how it turns out. If lousy then of course lah! will give them away to some desperate people who will gladly eat anything for free......if you know who I'm referring to..... HEEHEEHEEHEE!!

If you want the recipe just click on the right-hand column under "Shiok Recipes/MEALS/CHICKEN PIE.

ENJOY :D

No more DISCLAIMER this time! Already kena comment until jialat jialat like that!

Another New Recipe

Yet another rich snack, this time contributed by Gracie.

This ever popular Kueh Bingka (Tapioca Cake) recipe is created by her after many experimentation…..no wonder her weight keeps roller-coasting. She finally hit the perfect formula for a “Quick” easy-to-make snack for your cup of coffee or tea.

The recipe is on the right-hand column as usual.
Just click on the link under “Shiok Recipes/SNACKS/KUEH BINGKA”.

ENJOY :D

DISCLAIMER : Don’t look at me, I have absolutely got nothing to do with this recipe!
