About Me

I love cycling to the beach & go for walks with Irene.
Waiting for the day when we both retire & spend time together doing the things that we both enjoy most.

"You'll see that simplifying is not necessarily about getting rid of everything we've worked so hard for. It's about making wise choices among the things we now have to choose from. It's about recognizing that trying to have it all has gotten in the way of enjoying the things that truly do add to our happiness and well-being. So it's about deciding what's important to us, and gracefully letting go of the things that are'nt."

Fruits

Categories: 2007 | October 7th, 2007 | by shiokman | no comments

Another attempt to lose weight.

Well we did it before with success although it did’nt last as long as we hoped for. It’s the maintenance which is the toughest part of the journey. We have tried less fats, less calories, less in-between snacks but after awhile it gets boring, so there goes the diet.

Well this time round we are going to try Fruit Diet based on the “Dries Diet System”. Eat fruits before every meal….eat fruits for snacks….eat more fruits than food….eat fruits, fruits, fruits. That’s what we are attempting to do & hope that we will see some encouraging results end of this year.

Also check this out : Fruits click to download & save it in your computer.

Weight for today : 67.5kg / 93.5kg

Getting rid of stuffs

Categories: 2007 | September 17th, 2007 | by shiokman | no comments

The 1st thing I learn from reading the “Living the simple life” book is to make a list of all the stuffs that are just sitting around the house without adding any value to our life. Of course the difficult part is deciding which ones to get rid of & which ones to keep. Obviously we have been keeping too many things that we totally forgotten all about them.

So yesterday I started of by clearing a part of my cupboard & was shocked to find so many old wrist watches that were collected over the years. Most of them were not working at all, but I was just too “sayang” to git rid of them & was maybe hoping to try & fix them one day….. God knows what else I will find as I begin to slowly get rid of all the clutters in our home.

Rachel’s medical review after surgery

Categories: 2007 | April 20th, 2007 | by shiokman | 4 comments

This morning was Rachel’s medical appointment to check on her finger after the surgery last week.

The wound looked good according to the doctor & they took another x-ray of her hand before seeing the surgeon for review.

She will need to go for review every week at the occupational theraphy department, where they will check her wound & change the dressing for 1 month. Thereafter, she will see the surgeaon who will then remove the 2 spikes if everything is OK.

Below is a snapshot of the x-ray film of Rachel’s hand with the two metal spikes inserted.

This shot is taken by Rachel when they removed the dressing.

Another angle shot of Rachel’s hand.

Somehow it looks like those metal things that some kids pierced on their nose or tongue
or belly-button. :D

But that’s not the gross part.

In one month’s time when Rachel sees the surgeon for the removal of the 2 spikes from her hand, the doctor will do it WITHOUT ANAESTHESIA!!! 8O
Not even a local anaesthetic!

He says he will just pull them out unless Rachel is really afraid.

Well, our courageous Rachel is one real cool cat. 8)

She said that she will have it done like what the doctor says.
