Cheese Scones

Ingredients :
2 cups self-raising flour
30 g butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 egg lightly beaten
100 ml low fat milk
Method :
Preheat oven at 220C
Sift flour into a large bowl
Add the cold butter & rub in lightly with the fingertips
Mix in the brown sugar & grated cheese
Make a well in the center of the flour & pour in the egg & milk
Mix quickly into a soft dough
Turn onto a floured board & knead lightly
Roll into a long cylindrical shape about 3 ins diameter
Cut across about 1 in thick
Place on a greased oven tray
Glaze all over with milk
Bake for around 15 – 20 mins or until golden brown
