Bottom Layer
Ingredients
900gm Glutinous rice (soaked for 10mins)
400ml Coconut milk
200ml Water
¼ teaspoon of Salt
Preparation for rice
Put all ingredients into a tray.
Steam with high heat until cooked.
Fluff up rice and press with banana leaf until it is firmed up.
Top Layer
Ingredients
250 ml santan
3 pandan leaves
6 medium eggs
260 gms sugar
2 1/2 tbsp plain flour
2 1/4 tbsp cornflour
Preparation
Beat eggs separately and add sugar
Mix flour with some santan until blended
Pour flour mix into egg mix. Blend smoothly
Sieve flour/egg mix into santan in the bowl.
Mix well, add green colouring or pound pandan leaves for natural essence and colour
Pour on cooked pulot
Steam till kaya is cooked.
